Infant & Toddler Program
The first two years of life are a period of extraordinary brain development and the foundation of a child's personality. At Spell Well Montessori, our Infant and Toddler programs are masterfully designed to protect and nurture this intense window of growth. We provide a serene, 'prepared environment' where our youngest learners, from 6 weeks up to 2 years old, feel safe, respected, and empowered to explore the world at their own pace.
Guided by educators who specialize in the 'absorbent mind,' our curriculum focuses on early language acquisition, physical coordination, and the first seeds of independence. Surrounded by natural materials and a calm atmosphere, your child begins their journey of discovery in a space where every detail is intentionally crafted to provide 'Knowledge with Love' from their very first months.
A prepared environment where trust and independence begin.
Infant (6 Weeks – 18 Months)
At Spell Well Montessori School, we recognize that the earliest
months of life are a time of remarkable neurological and physical development.
Our Infant Program is housed in a dedicated, separate building—an exclusive Infant
Campus designed thoughtfully to provide a peaceful, secure, and enriching
environment for our youngest learners.
Our Montessori Approach: Connection and Discovery
The safety, wellbeing and happiness of each child are our highest
priorities. We offer more than just infant childcare; we nurture confidence,
connection and a true sense of belonging through:
- Eye-Level Interaction: Our educators are fully engaged in your child's day. You will often
find them on the floor, interacting at the child’s level to build trust and
support for meaningful social-emotional development. - Prepared Montessori Environments: Each classroom is carefully
designed with high quality Montessori materials that encourage exploration
and support the development of fine and gross motor skills. - Personalized Infant Care: Our teachers are attentive observers who respond to each child’s
unique cues, ensuring that both physical and emotional needs are met with
warmth, consistency and care.
Developmental Milestones & Early Language Acquisition
In Montessori philosophy, infants are seen as "natural
explorers." Our program supports key early childhood developmental
milestones through:
- Physical Independence: A safe open environment allows infants to develop movement naturally: crawling, standing and walking at their pace.
- Practical Life Skills: We nurture independence from the very beginning, encouraging simple self-care skills, such as holding a cup and early self-feeding.
- Early Language Development: Through consistency communication, storytelling, and interactive play, our guides help them with the foundation for strong language and cognitive development.
Experience the Spell Well Montessori Standard
By fostering an emotionally safe and intellectually stimulating environment, we provide our youngest learners with a strong foundation for lifelong growth and confidence, the hallmark of Spell Well Montessori School experience.
Toddler I & II Programs (18 Mon through 2.5 yrs)
At Spell Well Montessori School our toddler classroom provides a warm, welcoming
environment where children begin their first school experience, we understand
that for many families this is a child’s first time away from home; their
safety, emotional security, and happiness are our absolute top priorities.
An Integrated Early Childhood Program
Our toddler program is designed to nurture natural curiosity through hands on exploration using high quality Montessori materials, children begin developing
foundational skills in:
- Practical Life & Sensorial Exploration: Activities that strengthen fine
motor skills, coordination, and sensory awareness through touch, sight, and sound. - Early Academics: Introduction to sounds, letters, numbers, shapes, colors, and sizes through hands-on learning.
- Language & Math Concepts: Guided experiences that build early cognitive and problem-solving skills essential for future academic success.
- Music & Movement: Daily opportunity for creative expression that promotes joy, rhythm and social interaction.
- Gardening & Nature Studies: Children engage in hands-on gardening, learning to plant seeds, tending to sprout, and respecting the life cycles of nature.
Fostering Independence and Self-Care:
In the Montessori tradition, toddlers are encouraged to develop independence in meaningful ways. Our teachers guide children as they:
- Choose and complete their own work: Choosing their own work from the shelves and preparing their workspace.
- Develop self-care routines: Children practice handwashing, toileting, and other personal care skills with gentle guidance, emphasizing grace and courtesy during mealtimes and group interactions.

A Day in the Life: Nurturing Every Discovery
A Predictable Rhythm for Growth
Everything starts with a secure bond. In our environment, every routine—from a diaper change to a meal—is treated as a collaborative opportunity for connection. We speak to the child with intentionality and respect, fostering a deep sense of trust and emotional security.
The Prepared Environment is a sanctuary for physical freedom. Here, children follow their biological drive to move, whether they are reaching for a first wooden rattle or taking their first independent steps. This freedom allows gross and fine motor skills to develop naturally and confidently.
We surround each child with a rich tapestry of precise language. Through gentle songs, naming real objects, and engaging in simple yet meaningful conversations, we lay the essential foundations for future communication and expressive thought.
Even our youngest students experience the profound joy of "I can do it myself." By choosing their own work and practicing simple daily life skills, like putting on their own shoes, they build the self-belief and independence that will serve them for a lifetime.
